Prof. Kirwan was named one of Tatler magazines "Top Surgeons" in their February
2004 Cosmetic Surgery Guide. Prof. Kirwan is one of only five London surgeons
and thirteen surgeons worldwide to receive the accolade. Prof. Kirwan obtained his medical degree from the Victoria University of
Manchester in 1974 . He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in
1979. Prof. Kirwan completed his Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the
University of Missouri, Kansas City, under the professorship of Dr Frederick J.McCoy, one of the founders of plastic surgery in the United States. To prepare
students for their own practices, residents of this program were required to
complete rigorous training in cosmetic surgery techniques.
Prof. Kirwan is widely published in medical journals and is a sought-after speaker,
internationally. Prof. Kirwan has donated his surgical skills to help several
charities working with people who are victims of poverty or natural disaster.
